Summary
We are seeking an organized, proactive student currently enrolled in a college or university program to support our Engineering and Drafting teams by coordinating internal technical and drafting requests. Enrolment in engineering, engineering technology, architecture, drafting/design, business, project management, or a related field would be considered an asset. The successful candidate will maintain an Excel-based task management system, coordinate requests between internal customers, Project Management, Sales, Engineering and Drafting, track delivery commitments, monitor blocked and overdue tasks, and escalate scheduling issues when required.
This position is ideal for a student who enjoys organization, communication, problem-solving and working with multiple stakeholders. The role does not require the student to make engineering decisions; rather, the co-op student will ensure that the right people have the right information and that tasks are tracked from request through completion.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate Engineering and Drafting task requests.
- Maintain the task register and project-based task list.
- Coordinate Engineer of Record/Lead Drafter assignment and delivery commitments.
- Track requested and committed delivery dates.
- Follow up on outstanding and overdue tasks.
- Coordinate blocked tasks and monitor requests for additional information.
- Facilitate communication when proposed delivery dates are not acceptable.
- Escalate schedule conflicts to the Engineering Director/Drafting Manager.
- Maintain accurate Excel records and management metrics.
- Support workload and capacity tracking.
Qualifications
- Must be currently enrolled in a post-secondary Engineering program.
- Previous technical experience is beneficial, but not required.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong attention to accuracy.
- Proactive and able to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
- Comfortable communicating and collaborating across departments.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Engineering or drafting experience is considered an asset but is not required.
- Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and take the initiative within predetermined guidelines.
- Ability to work in collaboration with other personnel in various departments within the company.
- Strong organizational skills, including effective management of multiple and conflicting priorities.

Pay: $21.00-$23.00 per hour
