Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Prep Cook + Closing team member to join our restaurant. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing ingredients, cooking menu items, and ensuring the kitchen operates smoothly during closing hours. The ideal candidate has a passion for food service, food safety, and delivering excellent dining experiences. Duties
- Assist in food preparation by chopping, slicing, and assembling ingredients according to recipes and standards
- Cook menu items efficiently while maintaining quality and presentation standards
- Follow food safety guidelines to ensure proper handling, storage, and sanitation of all ingredients and equipment
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area during and after shifts, including washing dishes and sanitizing surfaces
- Prepare ingredients for upcoming shifts or next day’s service as needed
- Assist with inventory management by rotating stock and notifying management of supplies needed
- Support the team during busy periods by providing excellent food service and timely meal preparation
- Close the kitchen at the end of your shift by cleaning cooking stations, organizing supplies, and completing closing procedures
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food preparation or cooking in a restaurant or food industry setting is preferred
- Knowledge of food handling procedures and food safety standards
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong understanding of meal preparation techniques and kitchen safety protocols
- Excellent serving skills with a focus on customer satisfaction when interacting with front-of-house staff or guests
- Reliable team player with good communication skills
- Kitchen experience or restaurant background is highly desirable but not required; willingness to learn is essential
