Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Lead Carpenter specializing in architectural concrete, to oversee and execute high-quality concrete projects.
Our ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive construction knowledge, and the ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings. The ability to utilize and oversee additional helpers is an asset.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a one to two additional labourers/helpers as each site requires
- Read and interpret detailed schematics, blueprints, and construction drawings for architectural concrete projects
- Oversee rebar installation, concrete forming, and finishing processes to ensure quality standards are met
- Operate power tools safely and effectively during various phases of construction
- Ensure proper use of hand tools and adherence to safety protocols throughout all activities
- Coordinate with the business owner and clients to meet deadlines, budgets, and client expectations
- Conduct quality inspections and troubleshoot issues related to concrete finishing or structural integrity
- Maintain a clean and organized worksite while managing multiple tasks simultaneously
Experience
- Proven experience in construction with a focus on concrete forming, finishing, and architectural applications
- Strong background in carpentry, rebar installation
- Demonstrated ability to operate hand tools
- Skilled in reading schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings for complex projects
- Prior leadership experience as a lead or supervisor on construction sites preferred
- Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and industry best practices related to concrete construction
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and work at heights or in confined spaces as required
- Experience with flooring installation, caulking, renovation projects, and the use of schematics is advantageous
