Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Contract Pediatric Speech & Language Pathologist to provide expert clinical services within a virtual setting. This role involves assessing and treating speech and language and communication disorders across a neurodivergent pediatric population. You will be responsible for directing, supporting and monitoring an onsite therapy assistant. You will work closely with the onsite Occupational Therapist. The ideal candidate will have 5 years experience in pediatrics, is willing to go on the RASP and has experience with different AAC communication options. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on children and their families in a northern community.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients’ expressive and receptive language and overall communication
- Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs and goals
- Provide virtual direct therapy sessions and work jointly with an onsite program assistant
- Collaborate with other team members to coordinate patient care and ensure optimal outcomes.
- Maintain detailed documentation of patient progress, treatment interventions, and clinical notes in accordance with healthcare regulations
- Provide coaching and education to families on strategies to support communication goals
- Stay current with clinical best practices and participate in ongoing professional development.
Skills
- Proven experience working with neurodivergent pediatrics
- Strong knowledge of AAC options
- Compassionate approach with excellent communication skills for engaging patients of all ages.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with onsite team members.
