McKee McKids Enrichment Centre is looking to hire an RECE for September 2026 for a permanent, part-time split shift position.
The centre operates 10-months of the year from September to June and provides quality early learning and care for children from 30 months to 12 years of age.
About the position:
- The position is 5.5 hours per day, Monday to Friday

We are looking for a professional RECE who is passionate about excellence in childcare.
Required:
- Member in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators
- Clear Police Records Check with vulnerable sector screening dated within 6 months of hire date
- Up-to-date immunizations and 2-step TB test
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certification
- Minimum of six months’ experience working with children
- Ability to work fulltime on PA days, March Break, Winter Break
- Must be able to work outdoors for at least 2 hours daily year-round; may be exposed to heat, humidity or cold
- Flexible availability from Monday to Friday between the hours of 7:00am-6:00pm
- Ability to use frequent light to medium physical effort: lifting up to 20 kg (44 lbs.), bending and stooping, pushing, carrying and pulling
- Experience programming creatively in a play-based, emergent environment, supportive of children and their families
- Experience with the CCEYA, ELECT, How Does Learning Happen and the AQI
- A strong work ethic, positive attitude, caring personality, valuing diversity and social inclusion
- Able to produce assessments, evaluations, portfolios and document using ELECT
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written are necessary
- Computer skills necessary including microsoft word and app based programs
- Ability to be flexible, show initiative, multi-task and work independently and in a team
- Able to work confidently with all age groups from preschool to schoolage
- Ability to manage children with challenging behaviours
- Commitment to working in a socially inclusive environment responding with sensitivity and personal awareness to the diverse needs of members including visible and non-visible dimensions of diversity
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with staff, parents and community partners
- Ability to attend staff meetings and trainings during the day
