We are seeking an experienced Senior Systems Testing/QA Specialist to drive quality assurance, test planning, and defect management across complex enterprise software applications. In this role, you will design and execute detailed test strategies, test plans, and test cases across functional, integration, system, and user acceptance testing phases. Working closely with developers, business analysts, and project managers in an Agile environment, you will validate system behavior, perform data verification, manage defect tracking life cycles, and support automated regression testing to ensure high-quality software delivery.
Location: Toronto, ON (Fully Onsite – 5 days/week required)
Duration: 8-month contract.

Responsibilities
Test Strategy & Planning: Develop, maintain, and execute comprehensive test plans, test scenarios, test cases, and test data strategies for complex enterprise systems.
Functional & Integration Testing: Conduct functional, system integration, regression, and user acceptance testing (UAT) across Graphical User Interface (GUI) and non-GUI components.
Defect Management: Identify, document, prioritize, and track software defects through resolution using tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or ALM.
Test Automation & Scripting: Support the creation, execution, and maintenance of automated UI and API test scripts integrated into continuous delivery workflows.
Data & Backend Validation: Execute database queries (SQL) to validate data integrity, verify backend transformations, and ensure system-wide consistency.
Agile Collaboration: Participate actively in Agile ceremonies—including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives—to clarify requirements and refine acceptance criteria.
Documentation & Compliance: Maintain detailed quality metrics, test execution logs, and release documentation, ensuring compliance with digital accessibility standards (such as AODA) and enterprise QA practices.
Qualifications
Software QA Seniority: 8+ years of dedicated hands-on experience working as a Software QA Tester (Strictly Required).
COTS Application Testing: 5+ years of experience testing Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) applications (Strictly Required).
Defect Tracking Tools: Strong proficiency in managing the defect lifecycle using tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps (Strictly Required).
Test Documentation & SDLC: Proven experience writing test strategies, test execution plans, and test cases within both Agile and Waterfall methodologies (Strictly Required).
Backend Data Verification: Ability to write and understand SQL queries to perform database testing and validate data models.
Nice-to-Have Assets:
Hands-on testing experience with Oracle Siebel CRM or Siebel Test Automation tools.
Experience testing Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) or case management applications.
Working knowledge of test management and automation tools (e.g., QMetry, Postman, Selenium).
