We are currently hiring a confident and professional Server / Front Desk staff member for our busy neighborhood hotel and dive bar located on East Hastings in Vancouver. This position combines front desk responsibilities with bar service duties in a fast-paced environment with regular local customers and strong management presence.
This is not a luxury hotel or corporate restaurant environment. The area is part of Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside and applicants should understand the neighborhood before applying. While the outside appearance of the area may seem rough or intimidating, the business itself is secure, well-managed, and supported by regular customers and staff presence. Applicants should research the East Hastings / DTES area beforehand to ensure they are comfortable working in this environment.
Work Environment

Front Desk Duties
- Check guests in and out of hotel rooms
- Handle reservations, payments, and guest inquiries
- Monitor hotel access and maintain awareness of lobby activity
- Answer phone calls and provide customer assistance
- Coordinate with housekeeping and management regarding room status
- Maintain professional customer service during busy or challenging situations
- Report incidents or disturbances to management when necessary
Server / Bar Duties
- Serve beer, cocktails, and other beverages responsibly
- Take customer orders and process payments accurately
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of bar and seating areas
- Restock bar supplies and assist with opening/closing duties
- Provide friendly and efficient service to regular customers and guests
- Assist team members during busy periods
Requirements
- Previous serving, bar, hospitality, or customer service experience preferred
- Must be confident dealing with the public
- Ability to stay calm and professional under pressure
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Serving It Right certification preferred
- Must be reliable, punctual, and comfortable working evenings/weekends
