Medical Office Assistant / Registered Practical Nurse Needed ASAP
We are looking for a dedicated and professional Medical Office Assistant / Registered Practical Nurse to join our multidisciplinary team. You will manage both administrative duties and basic clinical support to help our medical staff provide exceptional patient care.
Clinical Duties Include
- Vaccine injections for all ages (B12, Shingles, Pneumovax, Adacel etc.)
- Perform TB Testing.
- Preparation of examination rooms, escorting patients to rooms, and recording basic vital signs (e.g., blood pressure).
- Calling out test results to patients.
- Coordinating appointment scheduling to optimize provider availability and reduce wait times.
- Notify patients of upcoming diagnostic imaging appointments.
- Assist with clinical inventory of supplies and vaccines.
- Emergency kit, AED, and oxygen tank monitoring.
- Maintain a clean and organized work space.
- Skills & Qualifications
- Completion of a recognized Medical Office Assistant diploma or certificate program is preferred.
- RPN Certification and Insurance coverage.
- CPR and First Aid Certified.
- Certified injection training mandatory.
- AED Training an asset.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records systems such as Telus PSS.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with patients and staff.
- Experience in vaccine injecting and documentation mandatory.
- Holter Monitor hook-up and ear flushing experience an asset.
