Overview
Healthy Heart Centre (HHC) is a multi-location cardiology clinic group serving patients across the GTA, with sites in Scarborough, Etobicoke, Downtown Toronto, Mississauga, and Hamilton. Our team of cardiologists and diagnostic technicians is dedicated to early detection, accurate diagnosis, and compassionate care for patients with heart conditions.
We're looking for a skilled and patient-focused Cardiac Technician / Cardiology Technologist to join our growing team. In this role, you'll perform diagnostic cardiac testing across our clinic network, working closely with our cardiologists to deliver accurate, timely results and a great patient experience. Please note: This role requires regular travel between HHC clinic locations on scheduled clinic days. Only apply if you're comfortable and flexible with travel.
Responsibilities
- Perform 12-lead ECGs, exercise stress tests, and the stress portion of stress echocardiograms.
- Hook up Holter monitors, and prepare accurate reports for physician interpretation.
- Recognize and immediately report significant arrhythmias or other critical/urgent findings.
- Prepare and support patients throughout testing, ensuring comfort, safety, and clear communication.
- Accurately input and manage patient data (e.g., PACS and clinic EMR systems).
- Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot diagnostic equipment; keep exam rooms clean, stocked, and operational.
- Collaborate with cardiologists, sonographers, and clinic staff to support smooth patient flow.
- Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.
Requirements
- Completion of a recognized Cardiology/Cardiac Technician diploma program.
- Active registration/membership in good standing with the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists (CSCT), or equivalent.
- CPR/BLS certification.
- Demonstrated arrhythmia interpretation skills.
- Recent clinical experience performing stress tests and Holter hook-ups is an asset.
- A valid driver's license and reliable vehicle for travel between clinic sites (preferred).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an excellent bedside manner.
- Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, multi-site clinical environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and comfort learning clinic software systems.
Experience
- Prior experience in a cardiac testing environment or related healthcare setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology is essential for accurate documentation and communication.
- Strong technical aptitude with the ability to operate complex medical equipment efficiently.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to comfort patients during stressful procedures.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Certification or training as a Cardiac Tech or related credential is mandatory; relevant experience will be considered.
Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
