We are currently seeking experienced and motivated Security, Alarm, Audio/AV, Access Control, Locksmith & Home Automation Technicians to join our team as subcontractors.
What You'll Do
As a subcontract technician, you’ll install, service, and support a wide range of systems including:
Security & Alarm Systems
- Intrusion alarm systems (wired & wireless)
- Motion detectors, glass break sensors, door/window contacts
- Fire alarm devices (where applicable)
- System troubleshooting, upgrades, and inspections
CCTV & Surveillance
- CCTV / IP surveillance systems
- NVRs/DVRs, cameras, and network configuration
- Remote viewing setup and client training
Audio / AV Systems
- Whole-home and commercial audio systems
- Speaker installation (in-ceiling, in-wall, outdoor)
- Amplifiers, AV racks, and signal distribution
- Integration with automation and control platforms
Home Automation
- Smart lighting, thermostats, blinds, locks, doorbells, and audio
- Integration with platforms such as Alarm.com, Control4, Lutron, etc.
Access Control
- Card, fob, keypad, and mobile credential systems
- Door strikes, maglocks, electric hardware
- Control panels, power supplies, and network cabling
- Software configuration, testing, and commissioning
Locksmith Services
- Mechanical and electronic lock installation
- Rekeying, lock replacements, and hardware upgrades
- Door hardware, closers, panic bars, and cylinders
- Coordination of locksmith work with access control systems
Additional Responsibilities
- Structured cabling (data, internet, VOIP, audio, and control wiring)
- General maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting, and system upgrades
- Client training, documentation, and ongoing support
What You Bring
- 4+ years experience in alarm, security, audio/AV, locksmith, automation, or access control installation and service
- Familiarity with systems such as DSC, Honeywell, Hikvision, Alarm.com, Control4, Lutron, AXIS, Kantech, etc.
- Strong understanding of low-voltage wiring, door hardware, and electronic security systems
- Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and door schedules
- Comfortable working independently, on active construction sites, and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and documentation skills in English
- Strong professionalism and customer-service mindset
Requirements
- Valid Ontario G Driver’s License
- Criminal background check
- Valid certificates in:
- Working at Heights
- Mobile Elevated Work Platform (Lift)
- Worker Health & Safety Awareness in 4 Steps
Compensation & Benefits
- $35–$40/hour based on experience
