Overview
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Assistant Kitchen Manager to join our dynamic food service team. The Assistant Kitchen Manager will play a key role in supporting the restaurant’s success by managing team performance, ensuring quality service, and maintaining efficient kitchen workflows.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Kitchen Manager in overseeing daily kitchen operations and ensuring smooth workflow
- Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff, including interviewing and training new team members
- Ensure food preparation and cooking meet quality standards and adhere to food safety regulations
- Manage food handling procedures and maintain proper sanitation practices
- Oversee POS transactions using Micros POS or similar systems for accurate cash handling and order processing
- Support food service operations, including serving customers when necessary
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies to ensure consistent stock availability
- Maintain high standards of customer service by addressing guest concerns promptly and professionally
- Lead by example in demonstrating hospitality, teamwork, and leadership within the kitchen environment
- Assist in restaurant management duties such as scheduling, performance evaluations, and operational improvements
Requirements
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and food safety practices
- Supervising experience within a restaurant or food service setting is preferred
- Strong knowledge of POS systems like Micros POS or similar platforms for cash handling and order processing
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on hospitality excellence
- Background in restaurant management or hospitality industry is highly desirable
- Experience with interviewing and onboarding new staff members
- Knowledge of food handling regulations and safety standards
- Prior experience working in hotel or barista environments is a plus but not required
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
