Course code and title: EDEC 351-002. Third Professional Seminar (Secondary).
Description: Professional portfolios and competencies will be addressed. Preparation for the third field experience through engaging in the full spectrum of unit/lesson planning, critical analysis, and self-reflection. Professional portfolios and competencies will be addressed.
This course is not team-taught or offered online.
Term: Fall 2026
Credits: 2 credits
Location: Education Building (EDUC 433)
Schedule: Friday, 12:35 pm–2:25 pm
Teaching Qualification Requirements (TQRs):
Education:
1. Master’s degree (In exceptional circumstances, applicants without a Master’s degree but with significant research or professional experience related to the course content may be considered).
2. Teaching degree or equivalent, and experience teaching in secondary schools.
Experience:
1. Expert knowledge of the course content.
2. Knowledge of the Quebec Education Program (QEP).
3. Familiarity with the professional competencies specified by the Ministère de l’Éducation.
4. Experience teaching in the Quebec elementary/secondary school system.
5. Previous successful experience teaching similar courses to pre-service teachers.
Other:
1. Commitment to working with a team of dedicated and engaged instructors.
2. Must be available to attend course coordination and planning meetings at least two weeks prior to the course start date.
Other Information:
1. Familiarity with myCourses or similar online platforms.
2. Familiarity with online platforms such as Zoom is a plus.
3. Familiarity with teaching blended classes.
4. Understanding of equity and diversity issues and how to address them in the classroom.
5. Practical technology skills.
