The Assistant Manager works directly with the General Manager to oversee and manage all aspects of customer service, product sales, and barista staff at the Oakville location in accordance with the vision and mission of Tribeca Coffee Co. Additionally, the Assistant Manager will be closely involved in the training and development of new and existing Tribeca Coffee Co. store locations.
Responsibilities & Expectations
– Assume responsibility for all aspects of store operations.
– If called upon, be capable of completing and overseeing all daily operations at Tribeca Coffee Co. (Oakville) and other Tribeca Coffee Co. locations.
– Assist the General Manager in overseeing barista performance, training and continuing education, and discipline.
– Management of baristas: customer service, preparation and presentation of beverages/food items and information, operational procedures, merchandising of sundry products.
– Assist the General Manager with back of house operations: inventory, scheduling, ordering, an contribute ideas as far as operational flow and sales growth and cost management.
– Be “on-call” with the responsibility to respond to problems or fill-in when needed.
– Cultivate a professional, friendly, efficient work environment, and participate in agenda creation for barista meetings
– Proactively train staff to maintain and uphold all company and shop policies.
– Actively work toward creating a superlative coffee shop experience through: customer service, beverage preparation and presentation, in-store marketing, and upkeep of the physical space
– Assist with social media content creation
– Handle customer complaints with professionalism and tact
– Proactively solve problems, creatively troubleshoot difficult situations and make decisions that benefit the shop and company at large
– Conduct quality control audits to ensure that beverages across branches are consistent and meet the company standards
– Ensure retail shelves are fully stocked, clean, and organized
– Liaise with franchisees and/or designates to ensure quality and standards are maintained and constantly improved upon
– Display and possess excellent knowledge of coffees, their origins, their flavour notes, and the various brewing methods, preparation, and presentation
– Be able to engage with our customers and team members about our in-store coffee offerings
– Be the ideal example to peers and proactively train our novice or newly hired baristas
Miscellaneous Requirements
The Assistant Manager must have consistent access to a reliable personal vehicle for running company errands, including but not limited to:
- Transporting supplies/equipment
- Attending off-site meetings or franchise location visits
- Conducting bank deposits or other financial tasks
- Handling urgent logistical needs
– Working special events, as needed
- Attending offsite training seminars and coffee industry trade events as required
Working Hours
Expected to work flexibly within the opening hours of the shop, including weekends and statutory holidays. Must be able to work overtime, as needed.
Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
