Purpose of the role
The Electrical QC Inspector / Coordinator is responsible for inspecting, testing, and documenting electrical construction activities to ensure compliance with project specifications, applicable codes and standards, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and client quality requirements.
The role supports safe and efficient project execution through disciplined inspection practices, accurate documentation, and effective coordination with construction, engineering, and client representatives in a demanding mining construction environment.
Responsibilities
Health, Safety and Environment

Actively support and demonstrate Cementation's HSE culture in all work activities.

Comply with all site safety standards, procedures, and client requirements.

Participate in site safety meetings, hazard assessments, inspections, and safety initiatives

Maintain safe work practices in active construction and underground environments.

Identify and report unsafe conditions and hazards in accordance with site procedures.
InspectionQuality Control
-
Perform inspections and testing of electrical systems and equipment to verify compliance with approved drawings, specifications, codes, and standards.
- Follow Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), quality procedures, and project requirements.

Complete inspection records, check sheets, turnover documentation, and quality reports
-
Verify installation quality for electrical equipment, cable tray, conduit, grounding, terminations, lighting, and associated systems

Identify, document, and communicate deficiencies and non-conformances to discipline supervision and project stakeholders.

Support deficiency resolution, turnover, and commissioning activities as required.
DocumentationCoordination

Maintain accurate and organized quality documentation and inspection records.

Record inspection data and submit documentation in accordance with project document control requirements.

Utilize Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, Bluebeam, and electronic filing systems to manage quality documentation.

Coordinate with construction, engineering, operations, and client representatives to support quality execution of work.
Technical Support
-
Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, schematics, and technical documents.

Apply knowledge of applicable Canadian electrical codes, standards, and industry best practices

Utilize electrical testing devices and troubleshooting methods to identify and diagnose electrical issues.

Develop familiarity with site-specific standards, procedures, and client expectations.
Work EnvironmentSite Requirements

Work a 14 days on / 14 days off rotational schedule consisting of 12-hour shifts
-
Perform work in active mining construction environments, including occasional underground work

Work effectively in physically demanding and less-than-ideal site conditions as required by project operations.

Working knowledge of quality documentation and document control processes

Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team environment.
Experience and Qualifications
-
Certified Journeyperson Electrician in Canada required
-
Minimum 3-5 years of electrical QA/QC inspection experience in industrial, mining, or heavy construction environments preferred.

Experience with Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), turnover packages, and quality documentation systems
-
Working knowledge of applicable Canadian electrical codes and standards

Experience performing electrical testing and troubleshooting activities

Experience in mining, industrial, or underground construction environments considered an asset
-
Valid safety certifications required by site and project standards.
