Senior Analyst - Real Estate
Location: Markham, Ontario
Employment Type: Full-Time
Compensation: $70,000 - $80,000 p.a.
We’re seeking a sharp, analytical thinker to join our boutique Ontario investment firm. You’ll dive deep into financial modeling, deal analysis, and risk assessment for real estate investments, mortgages, and development opportunities. This role demands intellectual curiosity, judgment, and the ability to learn complex regulations and apply them to real decisions.
Key Responsibilities
· Build and stress-test financial models (ROI, cash flows, feasibility) for acquisitions, rentals, and lending deals.
· Review legal documents (APS, contracts, loans, applications) to identify risks and recommend terms.
· Conduct due diligence on properties, including market trends, zoning, and municipal processes.
· Research and incorporate Ontario legislation (e.g., Planning Act, Residential Tenancies) into analysis.
· Monitor economic indicators, rates, and RE trends to support strategy.
· Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced small-team environment.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Accounting, or related (required); MBA preferred.
· CPA, CFA, CRF (REIC), or equivalent strongly preferred.
· 5+ years postgraduate experience in analytical roles (finance, accounting, underwriting); real estate experience a strong asset.
· Advanced Excel skills for modeling; experience reviewing legal documents and comfort with contracts.
· Proven self-starter mindset: reads legislation, learns independently, applies judgment.
· Exceptional communication: Clear, articulate English for internal teams and external stakeholders (e.g., municipalities).
What We Offer
· Competitive base + performance bonuses.
· Hybrid/flexible office (4 days in Markham).
· Growth in a hands-on investment environment.
