Overview of the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Analyst – Identity and Access Management (IAM) to join our Technology team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with modern identity and access management solutions while supporting the deployment and optimization of IAM services across the enterprise.
The primary focus of this role is to provide technical support for application onboarding to SailPoint IdentityIQ (IIQ) (or similar platforms), troubleshoot and resolve IAM-related issues, and support the ongoing administration of identity lifecycle management processes. The successful candidate will be highly motivated, technically proficient, and thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment.
Reporting to the Delivery Manager – IAM, the Senior Analyst will support the technical enablement of IAM services, ensure adherence to WestJet policies, and develop operational documentation, including runbooks and support procedures. This role requires deep expertise in IAM platforms such as SailPoint and CyberArk, as well as authentication technologies supporting cloud-based applications and infrastructure across Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Key Deliverables:
- Subject matter expertise in Identity and Access Management across both cloud and on-premises enterprise environments
- Provide technical support and administration for IAM solutions, including SailPoint IIQ
- Support and standardize authentication and authorization patterns, including:
- Single Sign-On (SSO)
- Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
- User provisioning and de-provisioning
- User behavior analytics
- Access governance controls
- Privileged access and secrets management
- Implement enhancements and enable new IAM functionality to support continuous improvement initiatives
- Participate in the evaluation, testing, and implementation of emerging IAM technologies
- Monitor and maintain IAM workflows, including provisioning and attestation processes
- Partner with IT support teams and People & Culture stakeholders to strengthen WestJet’s security posture through IAM technologies
- Provide operational support for the Identity and Access Governance program, serving as a technical escalation point when required
- Support IAM governance activities during audit and compliance reviews, including CSOX, PCI, GDPR, and PIPEDA requirements
- Develop and maintain process documentation and runbooks with a strong focus on self-service capabilities
- Stay current on IAM industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies
- Identify access management gaps through proactive analysis and partner with application teams to implement remediation plans
Experience and Qualifications:
- 3–5+ years of experience in Information Technology and Information Security, supported by a post-secondary degree in Computer Science or a related discipline. An equivalent combination of education, certifications, and relevant experience will also be considered
- 5+ years of hands-on experience integrating and configuring IAM solutions
- Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, ISO 27001, CIAM, SANS, or equivalent are considered an asset
- Experience designing, implementing, and optimizing solutions involving:
- Identity Management (provisioning, de-provisioning, certification, etc.)
- Active Directory, LDAP, SAML, OAuth, and PowerShell
- Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Azure DevOps, and CI/CD pipelines
- Web Access Management
- Single Sign-On (SSO) and Federation technologies (Kerberos, SAML 2.0, ADFS, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect)
- Privileged Identity Management (PIM)
- Multi-Factor and Adaptive Authentication
- Public and Private Cloud IAM
- Windows Security
- Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)
- Experience integrating large-scale enterprise solutions with Identity Governance and Administration (IGA) platforms, such as SailPoint
- Experience architecting and implementing IGA solutions (e.g., SailPoint) and Privileged Access Management (PAM) solutions (e.g., CyberArk)
- Understanding and practical experience applying Zero Trust security principles within IAM and PAM frameworks
- Demonstrated success implementing enterprise-scale information security solutions, supporting compliance requirements, managing large IT initiatives, and aligning complex business requirements with technology solutions
- Strong knowledge of information security frameworks and standards, including ISO 27001 and NIST SP 800-53
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills
- Proven critical-thinking ability and sound professional judgment
- Strong strategic planning skills with an enterprise-wide perspective
