About the Body Shop Foreman roll:
The Body Shop Foreman will work in a fast-paced environment where you will supervise and assist body shop technicians to repair and replace damaged heavy duty equipment structures and interior and exterior finishes. This role offers challenges as you’ll have a chance to work with the latest technology, giving you an opportunity to showcase your skills and experience. If you are an independent problem-solver with a passion for the industry, we want you to be a valuable member of the GreatWest Kenworth team.
Your day to day will include:
- Maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of all truck body / structural systems used in the Kenworth product line or similar products.
- Interpret work orders and technical manuals on paper and in PC-based formats.
- Backup painter, maintain personal and company tooling that gets used to do the job.
- Repair body and structural damage/ defects.
- Clean, prep, and paint to provide a high-quality finished product.
- Perform quality control on all repairs to ensure they are completed to a high standard.
- Supervise and assist with all body and paint repairs
- Work with Service Manager for interviewing, hiring and all related body shop needs.
Key Skills and Experience Requirements:
- Fiberglass, gel coat and experience with heavy duty body repair/paint processes are required.
- Be able to think, plan, make decisions and problem-solve to complete jobs.
- Perform estimates as required for all repairs.
- The ability to withstand work-related deadlines and pressures.
- Must be able to operate a motor vehicle.
- Stay up to date with repair techniques, paint finishes, and related products.
- Read and use documents.
- Follow warranty processes for all body and paint repairs
- Frame Straightening Experience considered an asset.
Other Related Skills:
- Be able to speak, read, write, and comprehend to ensure effective communication with employees and customers.
- General computer and software diagnostics skills.
- The ability to withstand work-related deadlines and pressures.
- Must be able to sit, kneel, lift, walk, and carry for extended periods.
