Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Brick Mason to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for constructing, repairing, and restoring structures using bricks, stone, and other masonry materials. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to work with various tools and equipment to deliver high-quality craftsmanship. The Brick Mason will play a vital role in both new construction projects and renovation or restoration efforts, ensuring structural integrity and aesthetic appeal.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to determine project requirements.
- Lay bricks, stones, concrete blocks, and other masonry materials with accuracy and craftsmanship.
- Operate hand tools such as trowels, hammers, chisels, and levels to complete masonry tasks efficiently.
- Use power tools including mixers, saws, and drills to prepare materials and facilitate construction activities.
- Mix mortar or grout according to specifications for bonding masonry units securely.
- Perform renovation and restoration work on existing structures, ensuring durability and visual appeal.
- Apply caulking and sealing techniques to improve weather resistance and finish quality.
- Operate heavy equipment when necessary for material handling or site preparation.
- Follow safety protocols at all times to maintain a safe work environment on-site.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet project deadlines and quality standards.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Brick Mason or in a similar masonry role within the construction industry.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment related to masonry work.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately.
- Experience with renovation projects or restoration work is preferred.
- Knowledge of construction safety standards and practices.
