Pay: $40.00–$44.00/hr + Benefits & Pension
Schedule: 48+ hours/week | Day shift | Monday–Friday with occasional weekends
We are seeking experienced and reliable Curb Machine String Line Setters to support concrete curb construction throughout London and surrounding areas.
The successful candidate will be responsible for setting and maintaining string lines used to guide curb machines, ensuring proper line, grade, elevation, and alignment throughout the work. This position requires individuals who take pride in accurate, quality workmanship and can work safely and efficiently on their own or as part of a concrete construction crew.
Candidates must have a minimum of three years’ experience as a Curb Machine String Line Setter. Experience with grading and layout is required. Experience with curb machine operations, concrete construction, or road construction is considered an asset.
Responsibilities
- Set up, install, and maintain string lines to guide curb machines
- Establish and verify proper line, grade, elevation, and alignment for curb and gutter installations
- Read and interpret grade stakes, grade sheets, and other layout information
- Measure and adjust string line as required to maintain accurate curb placement
- Assist concrete crews with curb, gutter, and sidewalk construction activities
- Maintain high standards of workmanship, quality control, and site safety
- Follow all safety procedures, company policies, and industry standards
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Curb Machine String Line Setter required
- Experience with curb machine operations, concrete construction, or road construction considered an asset
- Experience reading grade stakes, grade sheets, or other layout information required.
- Valid G driver’s licence with clean driver’s abstract required
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to work independently and as part of a crew
- Physically capable of lifting 50+ lbs., crouching, bending, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions
