Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Heavy Wrecker Operator to join our team. This vital role involves operating heavy-duty towing and recovery equipment to assist with vehicle recoveries, roadside assistance, and transport services. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, excellent customer service skills, and experience with commercial driving. Duties
- Operate heavy-duty wrecker and recovery vehicles to assist with vehicle recoveries, accidents, and roadside assistance.
- Safely load, unload, and secure vehicles using appropriate equipment such as winches, chains, and straps.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on recovery equipment to ensure optimal operation.
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with clients during recovery operations.
- Assist with vehicle repairs or minor mechanical troubleshooting as needed.
- Maintain accurate driving logs and record of services performed.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of tasks in high-pressure situations.
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver’s license (Class 1) with clean driving record.
- Mechanical knowledge related to automotive systems and recovery equipment.
- Prior experience operating heavy-duty tow trucks or wreckers is preferred.
- Experience with forklift operation is a plus.
- Strong customer service skills with a professional demeanor.
- Must be able to work weekends on-call and evening shifts.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and handle physically demanding tasks.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Must be reliable, safety-conscious, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
Pay: $70,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
