Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physiotherapy Assistant to join our team at our Mission and Sunridge location! As a Physiotherapy Assistant, you will work closely with physiotherapists to provide patient care and support in a hospital setting. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in the medical field and passionate about helping others. Candidates who are willing to learn Jane software and assist at reception during staff shortages or busy periods will be preferred.
Duties:
- Assist physiotherapists in providing treatment to patients
- Set up and prepare treatment areas for patient sessions
- Help patients with exercises and therapeutic activities
- Monitor patients during therapy sessions and report any changes or concerns to the physiotherapist
- Assist with transferring and positioning patients as needed
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of treatment areas and equipment
- Document patient progress and treatment outcomes accurately
Experience:
- Previous experience working in a physiotherapy setting is preferred
- Familiarity with medical terminology related to physiotherapy
- Knowledge of patient care techniques, including proper body mechanics and infection control protocols
- Understanding of acute care procedures and practices
Skills:
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients and healthcare professionals
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team
- Attention to detail in documenting patient information accurately
- Physical stamina to assist patients with mobility exercises
