DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist the pharmacist/registered pharmacy technician in maintaining federal, provincial, and
local laws, accrediting body standards, and Policies and Procedures (P&Ps).
- Make Inbound and outbound phone calls, collecting information for client account and profile,
and assisting customers.
- Work directly with patient data and complete tasks such as creating patients’ profiles in NAV,
aggregating orders, and collecting payments.
- Maintain pharmacy records including filing, scanning, and documenting required information
on dispensing records.
- Schedule, track, and process prescriptions in Kroll.
- Place orders for inventory from different suppliers, such as Mckesson (through Pharmaclick),
and DEX wholesale (internally).
- Assist in ensuring that the pharmacy is fully stocked with medications needed to process
scheduled refills.
- Update inventory levels in the central database (ERP) by creating purchase orders, receiving
orders, and, transferring stock from other locations, where appropriate.
- Create new drug cards in NAV for new medications.
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels through regular cycle counts and updating the counts in
both NAV (ERP) and Kroll, while also communicating pertinent information with the main
purchasing team.
- Prepare and requests return for all expired or damaged drugs to the appropriate wholesaler
and create return orders in NAV.
- Investigate and conduct research in cases of count discrepancies.
- Quarantine items from shelf that have expired and requests adjustments from purchasing
team, as required.
- Assist the pharmacist in handling drug/product recalls, recovering stock from patients and
returning for credit as per the recall notice, while adjusting system inventory counts
- Document appropriately according to P&Ps, all activities using required paperwork(logs).
- Communicate appropriately with all members of the healthcare team.
- Assist the pharmacists in the preparation, counting, packaging, compounding, and labelling
medications/ devices as allowed by law
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, supporting efficient task management and
accuracy.
- Proficiency in computer applications and digital tools commonly used in pharmacy operations.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, relevant to pharmaceutical measurements,
Physical Demands
- The Pharmacy & inventory coordinator will be required to sit and/or stand for extended
periods, lifting items, doing repetitive motion, and interacting with customers in a busy
environment.
