Our team works on a wide variety of projects throughout British Columbia, including:
· Municipal water, sanitary sewer and drainage upgrades

Our inspectors work directly with Project Managers, contractors, municipalities and utility providers to help ensure projects are constructed safely, efficiently and in accordance with contract documents.
Position Overview
Reporting to the Project Manager, the Engineering Inspector will provide construction inspection services on municipal infrastructure projects throughout Northern British Columbia.
Assignments may range from several hours per week to multiple days during active construction periods, depending on project requirements.
The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring construction activities, documenting project progress, verifying compliance with drawings and specifications, and communicating effectively with contractors and project stakeholders.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
· Perform field inspections of municipal infrastructure construction projects
· Monitor contractor compliance with drawings, specifications and contract requirements
· Maintain detailed daily inspection reports and construction records
· Document quantities completed for progress payments
· Coordinate with contractors, utility companies and project stakeholders
· Identify construction deficiencies and assist with their resolution
· Review traffic management and public safety measures
· Attend site meetings as required
· Photograph construction progress and maintain project documentation
· Review testing results and verify compliance with project specifications
· Report construction issues and recommendations to the Project Manager
· Assist with substantial completion inspections and deficiency reviews
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with:
· Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering Technology or Civil Engineering, or equivalent experience
· Experience inspecting municipal infrastructure or highway construction projects
· Strong understanding of municipal construction practices
· Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications
· Excellent written communication and record-keeping skills
· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
· Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence
· Reliable personal vehicle for travel to project sites
Preferred Experience
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in:
· Watermain construction
· Sanitary sewer installation
· Storm drainage systems
· Road construction
· Asphalt paving
· Concrete works
· Earthworks and grading
· MMCD specifications
· Contract administration
· Municipal infrastructure inspection
Working Conditions
· Part-time, casual position
