Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Florist Assistant to join our team. This role involves supporting the floral department with daily operations, customer service, and floral arrangements. The ideal candidate will have a passion for flowers, excellent communication skills, and experience in retail sales and horticulture. As a Florist Assistant, you will play a vital role in creating beautiful arrangements, maintaining floral displays, and ensuring an exceptional customer experience in a dynamic retail environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist customers with floral selections, providing expert advice on flowers and arrangements
- Support the creation of floral arrangements and bouquets according to store standards and customer requests
- Manage point-of-sale (POS) transactions, including cash handling and processing payments accurately
- Maintain the appearance of floral displays and ensure flowers are fresh and well-presented
- Support landscape maintenance tasks around the store premises as needed
- Handle merchandising duties such as stocking shelves, organizing displays, and updating signage
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries promptly and professionally
- Assist with e-commerce orders, including processing online sales and coordinating delivery or pickup arrangements
- Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth daily operations
- Support inventory management by tracking stock levels and assisting with ordering supplies
Experience
- Previous experience in retail sales, cashiering, or customer service is preferred
- Knowledge of horticulture, gardening, or landscape maintenance is a plus
- Multilingual abilities are advantageous for serving diverse customers
- Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling procedures, and merchandising techniques is desirable
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential for managing floral displays and inventory
- Excellent communication skills in English are required; additional languages are a benefit
- Experience with e-commerce platforms can enhance performance in online order fulfillment

Pay: $17.85-$29.58 per hour
