*Job Summary
- We are a small animal clinic located in Pickering, seeking an experienced and motivated full time/PT, veterinary assistant /receptionist to join our amazing team. This position requires working every other weekend as well. We need someone with a cheerful personality who is a quick learner, team player and works well with patients and clients. Experience in a vet assistant position in a veterinary hospital or other professional animal care is required for this position. Computer skills and experience with Avimark software are preferred.
*Responsibilities and Duties
- Assist the doctor during appointments and procedures
- Restraint of animals
- General cleanliness/upkeep of hospital
- Stocking of exam rooms, surgical suite and treatment area
- Reception duties such as answering phone calls, booking appointments and documentation of client communications, work well under pressure, have excellent customer service skill and communicate well.
- Must be available on Saturday
- ability to lift up to 50lb
*Qualifications and Skills
- Must have - Minimum 1-2 years relevant veterinary experience.
- Works well under pressure
- Have excellent customer service skills and communication skills
- Knowledge of Avimark is an asset
