Our client is a large-scale underground mining joint venture in the Sudbury Basin focused on the development of critical mineral resources. Backed by significant investment and industry-leading expertise, the operation offers employees the opportunity to contribute to a modern mining project that supports innovation, sustainability, and long-term growth in Northern Ontario. This is a contract position – scheduled until mid 2027.

About the Role:
The Mine Planner / Scheduler is responsible for developing, coordinating, and maintaining short- and medium-term mine plans and schedules that support safe and efficient production. Working closely with operations, maintenance, engineering, and project teams, this role ensures resources and activities are aligned to achieve operational objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain mine development, production, and construction schedules.
- Coordinate planning activities between operations, engineering, maintenance, and project teams.
- Support weekly, monthly, and quarterly planning processes.
- Monitor schedule performance and recommend adjustments to meet production targets.
- Analyze resource requirements including manpower, equipment, and contractor support.
- Support major shutdowns, infrastructure projects, and capital work scheduling.
- Generate planning reports, forecasts, and progress updates.
- Maintain planning data, schedules, and associated documentation.
- Assist with budget forecasting and tracking of project milestones.
- Identify opportunities to improve planning efficiency and resource utilization.
Qualifications
- College diploma or university degree in Mining Engineering Technology, Mining Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of mining experience with exposure to mine planning, scheduling, operations, or engineering.
- Experience using mine planning and scheduling software considered an asset.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced mining environment.
