We are currently recruiting a Personal Support Workers to assist a female employer, who had stroke, in all activities of daily living.
The employer enjoys watching TV shows, music videos, discussions and conversations, taking walks, using technology and playing with kids.
Start date:
Location:
- Burnaby (near Edmonds SkyTrain Station)
Shifts & Hours of Work:
- Monday, Tuesday, Friday
- 3:00pm to 11:00pm
- Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday
- 8:00am to 8:00pm
Compensation:
Responsibilities will include (but may not be limited to):
- Personal care including diaper changes, washing and dressing and brushing teeth
- Administering Food through feeding tube and monitoring
- Administering Medication through feeding tube
- Transferring using lift and repositioning on the wheelchair
- Light housekeeping such as laundry, making the bed
- Putting on Orthotics and assisting with light stretching
- Assist in setting up and using communication tablet(AAC device)
- Take client outside for walks in sun
- Set client up for Online Appointments and potentially take employer to appointments via Handydart
Required Qualifications:
- Caregiving experience is an asset
- Physically fit to do repositioning and transfers
- Experience with mechanical lifts is an asset
- Updated Flu Shot preferred
