What is the Opportunity?
Global Functions Technology (GFT) is part of RBC’s Technology and Operations division. GFT’s impact is far-reaching as we collaborate with partners from across the company to deliver innovative and transformative IT solutions. In this role you will coordinate and manage production support activities for HR IT systems and related subsystems. You will partner across IT, assigned business lines and 3rd party vendors, to achieve operational excellence. You will have opportunities to work on critical RBC applications with partners from across the company. You will work directly with leaders who believe in celebrating successes and sharing learnings with other teams to promote progress.
What Will You Do?
Support for the SAP HR & Finance modules and third-party interfaces.
Support month-end, quarter-end and year-end Payroll and Finance activities with system readiness, troubleshooting and performance monitoring.
Ensure operational excellence by maintaining stringent SLAs, monitoring SAP application health metrics (availability, response time, error rates), and escalating critical incidents to senior management
Perform SAP system installations, configurations, refresh, client copies, kernel upgrades, and patching activities.
Ensure compliance with internal controls, financial policies, and audit requirements within SAP Finance and HR modules.
Collaborate with stakeholders as the SME and with the Development team, to ensure any design is accurate and do thorough testing when required, to ensure that financial processes and procedures are leveraging SAP best practices
Lead disaster recovery drills and tabletop exercises with cross-functional teams; document findings and drive remediation of identified gaps and collaborate with Infrastructure and Network teams to ensure adequate redundancy, backup strategies, and geo-redundancy for critical applications
Identify and execute automation opportunities across the support lifecycle: ticket routing, incident correlation, root cause analysis, knowledge base updates, and routine maintenance tasks
What you need to succeed?
Must have
Graduate degree coupled with management experience, administering and supporting SAP Landscapes, specifically supporting SAP Finance and SAP HR/Payroll solutions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders and development teams to resolve incidents and support enhancement projects.
Experience working with vendors - both onshore and offshore resource
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and ability to work with large datasets
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing multiple tasks and deadlines
Ability to identify, institute process improvement and effectively apply application efficiency and effectiveness
Nice to have:
Strong background collaborating with cross-functional teams and supporting system processes, including SAP ERP platforms, and financial reporting tools.
Experience in a matrix environment, such as a large, publicly traded corporation
Knowledge of banking and financial services regulations, such as SOX, GDPR, or Basel III
