Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Lathe Machine Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating CNC (Computer Numerical Control) lathes and manual lathe machines to produce precision components that meet strict quality standards. Your mechanical knowledge, proficiency with CAD (Computer-Aided Design) and SolidWorks, and ability to interpret blueprints will be essential in delivering high-quality parts efficiently. Duties
- Set up and operate CNC lathe machines, ensuring precise machining of metal or plastic parts according to blueprints and technical drawings
- Read and interpret complex blueprints, CAD models, and manufacturing specifications to determine machining parameters
- Program CNC lathes using Fanuc controls or other CNC programming languages to optimize production runs
- Use precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers to verify dimensions and maintain quality standards
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols while handling hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment when necessary
- Perform routine machine maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and make adjustments to ensure optimal performance
- Assist in assembly processes when required, utilizing basic math skills and machining knowledge for component fitting
Experience
- Proven experience operating CNC lathes or manual lathe machines within a manufacturing setting
- Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of machining processes, blueprint reading, and CNC programming fundamentals
- Familiarity with SolidWorks and CAD software for interpreting design files and creating machining programs
- Ability to use precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges accurately
- Basic math skills for calculating dimensions, tolerances, and machine settings
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles to promote efficiency and waste reduction
- Experience with hand tools, power tools, welding techniques, forklift operation, and assembly is a plus
