The Group Facilitator is responsible for providing the highest-quality care and services by delivering the highest level of group engagement to clients. Group Facilitators must be able to show empathy and compassion towards all clients. Group Facilitators must understand the 12-step, Indigenous cultural healing, and SMART recovery models. Group Facilitators are responsible for guiding clients through their recovery by facilitating group therapy, process group sessions, and workshops. This person will ensure that they follow the policies, procedures, and regulations set forth by Together We Can, as well as our licensing/registration requirements. .
What you will do
- Develop and facilitate process groups for participants and families that include relapse prevention, life skills, CBT & DBT, coping skills, goal setting, and family healing.
- Interact courteously and tactfully with clients, co-workers, family members, visitors and the public
- Establish and maintain rapport with clients
- Resolve conflicts and provide crisis intervention
- Debrief to Supervisors as required
- Communicate efficiently and effectively as a member of the Counselling Team
- Document communication with participants through case and journal notes
- Expand group material in response to changing participant demographics
- Continue to grow professionally and develop personal standards
- Maintain the Standard of Care and professionalism as set by the Society
What you bring
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work with compassion towards individuals who suffer from addiction issues
- Willingness to continue training/education in addiction recovery and therapeutic regimens
- Basic phone/computer/electronics skills (email, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Internet, Fax, Copier, etc.)
- Time Management in prioritizing and carrying out assigned tasks with minimal supervision
- Analyze, make decisions and resolve problems
- Work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team
Qualifications
- Diploma in Counselling
- Registration in good standing with the Canadian Addiction Counsellors Certification Federation or like governing body
- First Aid
Pay: $25.00-$27.00 per hour
