Job Summary
West Coast Pre Fab is seeking a skilled Manual Machinist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude and experience using manual machines. This role involves operating machines to produce precision parts and components based on engineered drawings. The Machinist will work closely with our team to ensure high-quality production while adhering to safety standards.
Responsibilities
- OPPERATION OF MANUAL MACHINES
- Operate and maintain a variety of machining equipment, including milling machines and lathes.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD models to determine machining specifications.
- Utilize hand tools and precision measuring instruments to ensure accuracy in production.
- Collaborate with WCPF'S teams to optimize designs
- Implement lean manufacturing principles to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
- Conduct routine maintenance on machines to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during the machining process.
Requirements
- 4th year or Red Seal Machinist Ticket.
- Proven experience in machining, with proficiency in operating milling machines and lathes.
- Strong blueprint reading skills, with the ability to interpret technical drawings accurately.
- Solid understanding of mechanical principles and lean manufacturing practices.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively.
- Knowledge of the use of precision measuring equipment.
- Communication skills in writing, sketching and verbal.
