About the Role
Altera Roof Services is a growing commercial and residential roofing contractor operating across Metro Vancouver, the Lower Mainland, and Fraser Valley. We're looking for an experienced Service Foreman to lead our service and repair division — someone who can run jobs independently, manage a small crew, and represent Altera professionally with property managers, strata councils, and commercial clients.
Responsibilities
- Lead service calls, repairs, and small-scope roofing projects from start to finish
- Supervise and coordinate labourers on-site, maintaining productivity and safety standards
- Diagnose roof issues accurately and communicate findings clearly to clients and the office
- Install and repair SBS, TPO, EPDM, and modified bitumen membrane systems
- Install metal flashings, copings, and trim components to a high standard
- Perform repairs and full replacements on asphalt shingle roofing systems, including valley, ridge, and step flashing work
- Perform and oversee roof maintenance projects.
- Ensure all work meets manufacturer specs and BC Building Code requirements
- Maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles in good working order
- Document completed work with photos and job notes for reporting and invoicing
- Interface professionally with property managers, site contacts, and strata representatives
- Follow and enforce safe work practices in compliance with WorkSafeBC regulations
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 5 years of roofing experience, with at least 2 years in a lead or foreman role
- Strong working knowledge of roofing systems.
- Hands-on experience installing metal flashings, copings, and sheet metal trim — ability to read a profile and cut to fit in the field
- Proficient in asphalt shingle installation and repair, including proper layering, flashing integration, and manufacturer warranty requirements
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, scopes of work, and specifications
- Valid BC driver's licence (Class 5) and a clean abstract
- Solid communication skills — comfortable speaking directly with clients on-site
- Self-motivated, reliable, and able to manage time independently in the field
- Fall Protection certification an asset
- First Aid certification an asset
