Somatic MEP is looking for an experienced Red Seal Electrician to join our electrical division. We are experiencing fantastic growth, and want you to grow along with us.

The majority of the work is in Vancouver, though we do serve the entire lower mainland.
Job Summary:
As a Red Seal Electrician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in a commercial setting. You will interpret electrical drawings, ensure compliance with electrical codes, and uphold stringent safety protocols. In this role, you will supervise and mentor apprentices, providing guidance to develop their skills and ensure quality workmanship. You will troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues, maintain accurate records, and engage in continuous learning to stay current with industry advancements. Your expertise and attention to detail will be critical in delivering high-quality electrical installations and maintaining a safe working environment.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and components
- Read and interpret complex electrical drawings and blueprints
- Supervise and mentor apprentices
- Ensure compliance with electrical codes and standards
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues
- Maintain accurate records of work performed
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development
Qualifications:
- Valid Red Seal Electrician's license
- Extensive experience in electrical installation, maintenance, and repair
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex electrical drawings and blueprints
- Strong understanding of provincial, federal, and local Vancouver (GVA, TSBC) electrical codes and standards
- Ability to supervise and mentor apprentices effectively
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment
- Physical stamina and the ability to work in various environments, including confined spaces and at heights
- Commitment to ongoing training and professional development to stay current with industry advancements and emerging technologies
