Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Journeyman/Woman Electrician to join our team. This role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems across various industrial and commercial settings. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical work, with experience reading blueprints and schematics, and proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and programmable logic controllers. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work on diverse projects including renovation, construction, and low voltage systems, contributing to the safety and efficiency of our operations.
Must have some experience working with an apprentice.
Responsibilities
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems in accordance with blueprints, schematics, and electrical codes
- Read and interpret technical drawings including schematics and wiring diagrams
- Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to complete electrical tasks efficiently
- Work on renovation projects, new construction, or maintenance of existing electrical infrastructure
- Install and maintain low voltage systems such as security alarms or communication networks
- Program and troubleshoot programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for automation processes
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and regulations
- Collaborate with other tradespeople on complex projects requiring handyman skills or construction experience
- Conduct routine inspections to identify potential issues before they become problems
- Work with and guide apprentices
Experience
- Proven industrial electrician experience with a strong understanding of electrical systems and safety protocols
- Skilled in blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and working from technical diagrams
- Hands-on experience with low voltage wiring, power tools, hand tools, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs)
- Background in renovation projects or construction environments is highly desirable
- Knowledge of electrical codes and standards applicable to commercial or industrial settings
- Additional handyman or general construction experience is a plus
