Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Event Setup & Tear Down Laborer to join our team. This role involves preparing event spaces, installing equipment, and dismantling setups efficiently and safely. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. A commitment to show and get the job done in a timely effecient manner is highly valued. Must be able to work under pressure and in a fast paced environment.
Duties
- Read and follow event floor plans, layouts, and setup instructions to ensure accurate installation and breakdown of event spaces.
- Set up and dismantle delicate event equipment, glassware, vases, glass candleholders
- Load, unload, transport, and organize event equipment, décor, and supplies before and after events.
- Work collaboratively with event coordinators, vendors, and team members to ensure events are completed on schedule.
- Handle décor and rental items with care to prevent damage during setup, teardown, and transportation.
- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures while maintaining a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.
- Perform post-event cleanup, inventory checks, and proper packing of equipment for storage or transport.
- Adapt to changing event timelines and assist with additional setup or breakdown tasks as needed.
Skills & Requirements
- Must be able to lift and carry 5–15 lbs regularly, and up to 50 lbs with assistance when required.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and reach for extended periods.
- Comfortable working on ladders or step stools when decorating or installing event décor.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow setup diagrams and instructions accurately.
- Excellent time management and ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Positive attitude with a willingness to adapt to changing event needs.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism.
- Careful handling of delicate décor, floral arrangements, candles, linens, and rental items.
- Good communication skills and ability to take direction from event coordinators.
- Physically fit and capable of performing repetitive lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling throughout a shift.
- Flexible availability, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation are an asset.
- Previous experience in event setup, hospitality, warehouse, moving, is an asset but not required.
Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
