We’re looking for skilled, safety-first Underground Construction Miners for work across various mine sites in Ontario for an initial 6 month term, with the possibility of extension. If you have 3–5 years of underground mining/construction experience, connect with us today!
Responsibilities Will Include:
- Performing underground/surface construction and mine development activities including excavation support, civil works, and installation of underground services.
- Installing ground support systems including rock bolts, mesh, straps, screen, shotcrete prep/support, and resin/grout bolts as required.
- Operating and assisting with underground equipment including jacklegs, stoppers, drills, bolters, scissor lifts/manlifts, LHD/scoop (if qualified), telehandlers, and service vehicles.
- Conducting material handling operations including loading, hauling, and staging supplies underground.
- Installing and maintaining underground infrastructure.
- Installing rebar, concrete formwork, concrete pours, and grouting activities as required by the project scope.
- Performing scaling and ground condition inspections, identifying hazards, and reporting unsafe conditions immediately.
- Conducting pre-operational inspections and routine minor maintenance on equipment.
- Completing work in accordance with Ontario mining regulations, company procedures, project plans, and client standards.
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.
- Communicating effectively with supervisors, engineers, and other trades regarding work progress, equipment status, and any encountered issues.
- Assisting with other general underground support or labouring duties as project needs dictate.
Requirements:
- Pre-employment drug and alcohol testing and required background checks as per client requirements.
- Ontario Common Core Training (U/G Hard Rock or U/G Soft Rock, depending on site).
- Working at Heights
- WHMIS (current within three years).
- First Aid / CPR (Standard First Aid preferred; site requirements may vary).
- 3–5 years of underground mining or underground construction experience
- Valid driver’s license.
