Position Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced and motivated Personal Injury Litigation Associate Lawyer to join its growing litigation team in Toronto. This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer who is passionate about advocating for injured individuals and handling sophisticated plaintiff-side litigation matters.
The ideal candidate will have strong litigation skills, excellent advocacy abilities, and the confidence to independently manage files while working collaboratively with a team of experienced legal professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage plaintiff-side personal injury files from intake through settlement or trial.
- Conduct examinations for discovery, mediations, motions, pre-trials, and court appearances.
- Draft pleadings, motion materials, mediation briefs, legal correspondence, and other litigation documents.
- Develop and implement litigation strategies tailored to each case.
- Provide legal advice and guidance to clients throughout the litigation process.
- Collaborate with senior counsel, experts, and support staff on complex matters.
- Maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and client-focused advocacy.
- Manage case deadlines and ensure compliance with court rules and procedures.
Qualifications
- Member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
- Minimum of 3 years of plaintiff-side personal injury litigation experience.
- Strong advocacy, negotiation, and legal drafting skills.
- Experience handling tort claims, accident benefits, disability claims, and/or medical malpractice matters is highly preferred.
- Ability to independently manage litigation files with confidence and attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and collaborative legal environment.
- Strong academic credentials and commitment to professional excellence.
