Quality Control Manager
Location: Langley, British Columbia Employment Type: Full-Time | Permanent | On-Site Reports To: Chief Operating Officer (COO)

As our business continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced Quality Control Manager to lead our quality management initiatives and ensure our products consistently meet or exceed customer expectations and industry standards.
The Opportunity
The Quality Control Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving Lindahl Group's quality management systems across manufacturing, finishing, warehousing, and installation operations.
This leadership position plays a critical role in driving product excellence, reducing defects, improving operational efficiency, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring compliance with applicable codes, specifications, and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Management
Develop, implement, and maintain company-wide quality control policies and procedures.
Lead quality assurance and quality control activities across manufacturing, powder coating, assembly, logistics, and field installation.
Ensure compliance with internal quality standards, customer specifications, and applicable building codes.
Establish measurable quality objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs).
Monitor product quality throughout the manufacturing and installation processes.
Inspection & Compliance
Develop inspection plans and quality checkpoints for incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products.
Ensure all inspections are completed accurately and documented properly.
Coordinate corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Perform root cause analysis for product defects and customer complaints.
Maintain quality records, inspection reports, and non-conformance documentation.
Continuous Improvement
Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies where applicable.
Analyze quality data and identify trends to reduce waste, rework, warranty claims, and installation deficiencies.
Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Procurement, and Installation teams to improve product quality.
Develop standardized work instructions and quality documentation.
Customer Quality
Investigate customer complaints and field deficiencies.
Coordinate corrective actions with internal departments.
Support project teams in resolving quality-related issues.
Help maintain strong customer relationships through timely issue resolution.
Leadership
Lead, mentor, and develop the Quality Control team.
Conduct performance reviews and coaching.
Promote a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
Work closely with department managers to improve cross-functional collaboration.
Reporting
Prepare quality performance reports for senior management.
Track quality metrics including:

Defect rates
o
Rework
o
Warranty claims
o
Customer complaints
o
Supplier performance
o
Installation deficiencies
Recommend strategic improvements based on quality data.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt, or ISO 9001 Lead Auditor are considered strong assets.
Professional Experience
Minimum five (5) years of progressive experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Control leadership within manufacturing or construction-related industries.
Experience managing quality systems in a manufacturing environment.
Experience with aluminum fabrication, architectural metals, railing systems, curtain wall, windows, doors, or building envelope products is highly desirable.
Proven experience leading cross-functional teams.
Strong background in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
Experience developing SOPs, inspection procedures, and quality documentation.
Technical Skills
Strong understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS).
Knowledge of ISO 9001 principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
Experience with ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or equivalent.
Advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite skills.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, shop drawings, fabrication details, and architectural specifications.
Experience using quality analysis tools including:

Fishbone Diagram
FMEA
SPC
Pareto Analysis
Strong knowledge of quality auditing practices.

Assets
Previous experience in the aluminum railing or architectural metals industry.
Knowledge of residential and commercial construction practices.
Familiarity with BC Building Code requirements.
Experience working with fabrication, powder coating, and field installation operations.
Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma certification.
Experience implementing ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
