Electrical Superintendent - Commercial
Location: Medicine Hat
Reporting to the District Manager, the Electrical Superintendent is responsible for leading electrical construction projects within the established scope of work and oversees the performance of onsite Pronghorn trades employees.
Responsibilities:
- Ensuring adherence to work safety and safe work practices.
- Developing a good understanding of the project scope including issued for construction (IFC) drawings and specifications.
- Supervising all related operational activities.
- Ensuring quality work is delivered within negotiated time and cost schedules.
- Coordination of quality assurance (QA) /quality control (QC) activities and documentation.
- Forecasting, coordinating and managing manpower (including sub-contractors), job costs, materials, vehicles, equipment and tools.
- Coordinating and approving as built drawings and documents, including Information for bid (IFB’s), information for change (IFC’s), scope change notice (SCN’s) and request for information (RFI’s).
- Maintaining effective liaison with all affected parties including clients, QA/QC representatives, estimators, site inspectors, other contractors.
- Leading, attending and/or participating in site meetings relating to safety, scheduling, progress, etc.
- Coordinating electrical permits and ensuring compliance with all regulatory agencies.
Qualifications:
· The successful candidate will be:
o Journeyman Electrician.
· And have the following:
o 10 years of experience leading successful Electrical construction projects..
o Intermediate demonstrable skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
o Good understanding of the Canadian Electrical Code.
o Strong leadership qualities and excellent organizational, decision making, problem solving and customer service skills.
o Project and construction management experience.
