Supports commodity and indirect tax compliance and accounting activities through the accurate preparation and execution of assigned deliverables. The role is responsible for preparer-level tasks, data validation, documentation, and adherence to established procedures, contributing to the integrity, control, and timeliness of tax reporting processes under close supervision.
Responsibilities:
Tax Compliance & Accounting Preparation

Prepares assigned components of commodity and passenger ticket tax compliance filings, reconciliations, journal entries, and related accounting explanations in accordance with documented procedures and calendars.

Extracts, validates, and analyzes source data required for tax compliance and accounting activities using approved tools and templates.

Prepares supporting schedules, reconciliation narratives, and account explanations in line with team standards.

Identifies data issues, variances, or gaps and escalates findings to senior team members or management.
Transaction & Invoice Processing

Executes routine invoice and transaction processing activities related to tax compliance and accounting.

Reviews transactions for completeness and accuracy and flags exceptions or anomalies for follow-up.

Supports remediation activities as directed.
Documentation, Controls & Audit Support

Compiles and maintains compliance workpapers, filings, and supporting documentation to meet internal control, audit, and regulatory requirements.

Ensures documentation is complete, accurate, and traceable in accordance with established standards.

Maintains updated process documentation, checklists, and supporting files.
Process & Systems Support

Supports process improvement, standardization, and automation initiatives through data validation, testing, and documentation.

Participates in user acceptance testing (UAT) activities by executing assigned test cases and documenting results.

Tracks assigned tasks and deliverables in approved tracking tools and meets defined timelines.
Qualifications

College diploma or degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.

1–3 years of experience in accounting, finance, or tax operations.

Strong attention to detail and ability to execute defined, repeatable processes accurately.

Working knowledge of Excel; exposure to ERP, tax, or automation tools is an asset.

Ability to manage multiple preparer-level deliverables within structured timelines.

Effective written and verbal communication skills; bilingualism (French/English) preferred.
Conditions of Employment:
