POSITION OVERVIEW We are seeking “Skilled” personnel to operate our precision sheet metal equipment in our niche business. The main responsibility will involve operating the brake press machine along with fulfilling other organizational needs as needed with laser cutting, CNC punching, and PEM insertion machines as well as other secondary operations.
We are looking for personnel that have the flexibility to navigate the different areas of the metal shop as needed and quite often on a short notice basis. Your efforts will result in amazing, finished products for our customers from many different diverse work sectors in the economy
A MANDATORY core requirement in order to be considered for this position is having a minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in a metal shop setting related to specialized sheet metal production ideally from a Brake Press machine background although relevant equivalencies will be seriously considered.
Salary range is dependant on experience. But In return for your hard work, we are offering a starting wage range of $27 to $ 30 per hour plus an attractive benefit package.
For operators available to work the afternoon shift and Lead a Crew, an additional shift differential of $ 2.00 Per hour will be paid as well as enjoying the advantage of a compressed work week.( 4 X 10)

A family owned & operated sheet metal fabrication company based in Edmonton, AB. Starting in 1982, the goal of matching excellent customer service with high quality products has remained the focus. Since then our advanced capabilities have grown to include a variety of CNC programmable machines including laser-cutting, brake forming, waterjet cutting and more, in a 30,000 square foot production facility. Over the past almost 40 years, this approach has helped our client build strong customer relationships, referrals and repeat clients.
KEY ACCOUNTABLITIES:
- Working in a manner that promotes the highest levels of quality and productivity and always represents our organization in a professional way while you are working.
- Initially assisting the primary operator with the applicable sheet metal processes related to a custom sheet metal/precision sheet metal setting,( i.e.braking/forming, laser cutting) with the overall goal of being QUICKLY being trained to become a primary operator and then being trained on other machines.
- Working with various other sheet metal equipment in the shop including but not limited to the CNC punching, shear, PEM® fastener insertion machine , band saw, deburring, drilling, tapping and related brake press equipment.
- Operating other related metal working equipment and general assistance with shop housekeeping, labor and general cleaning.
- Having the ability to operate the forklift or capability of being trained.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
- 2-3 Years of general experience working in a sheet metal fabrication facility and manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated Prior experience with at least one specialized machine in the shop is a requirement (i.e Brake Press laser cutting, CNC punching, and PEM insertion machines ) and strong aptitude for learning how to operate multiple machines.
- Valid class 5 operators license and reliable transportation to travel to and from work.
- Demonstrated commitment to a safety-first attitude following all company safety rules.
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills, positive attitude and ability to deal effectively with a variety of personalities
- Proficient with Microsoft computer programs and basic machine programs.
- Demonstrated aptitude for continuous learning.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills. Proficient in the use of the English language.
- Strong organizational and reasoning skills
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities and tasks and accomplish work safely in a time sensitive environment
- A Valid Standard First Aid Certificate, forklift operation and overhead crane are considered definite assets.
- Able to work in a physical and mental capacity within a shop facility and are capable of lifting 50lbs.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Day shift 730 -4 PM
Afternoon shift 330 PM - 2AM ( Monday through Thursday)
Production shop environment with various physical hazards
Ability to work on feet for extended periods or time
Heavy lifting up to 50 pounds and repetitive actions
