In Atlantic Canada, our Geotechnical Group within the Project Delivery Group (PDG) plays a critical role in delivering projects from early studies through to construction and operation.
We are looking for a Geotechnical Engineer who is technically strong, curious, and motivated to grow — someone who wants to work on complex, multidisciplinary projects while learning from experienced industry leaders.

Your role
As a Geotechnical Engineer, you will contribute to the analysis, design, and delivery of geotechnical solutions across a range of projects.
You will play an active role in field programs, technical design, and project execution, while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams locally and globally.
Your responsibilities
1. Field Investigations & Site Characterization
-
Scope, plan, and manage geotechnical site investigations
-
Oversee field programs and ensure quality of data collection and execution
-
Develop site characterization reports and document subsurface conditions
-
Interpret field and laboratory data to support project decisions
2. Geotechnical Analysis & Design
-
Perform geotechnical analysis and design for:
-
shallow and deep foundations
-
retaining structures
-
embankments and slopes (cut/fill)
-
ground improvement systems
-
Develop 2D and 3D numerical models using industry software
-
Contribute to specialized studies (e.g., dam safety, DSRs, DSIs, breach analysis) where applicable
-
Ensure designs align with project requirements, codes, and best practices
3. Engineering Deliverables & Technical Reporting
-
Prepare technical reports, design memoranda, and specifications
-
Produce clear, concise, and high-quality documentation for clients and project teams
-
Contribute to the development of engineering deliverables across project phases
-
Participate in peer reviews and ensure technical quality
4. Project Delivery & Coordination
-
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across engineering, environmental, and construction disciplines

Support the development of project execution plans and schedules
-
Contribute to efficient and timely project delivery
-
Interface with internal stakeholders and external partners
5. Leadership, Mentorship & Business Support
-
Review work of junior engineers and provide technical guidance and mentorship
-
Support proposal development and business development initiatives
-
Build and maintain client relationships
-
Contribute to a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement
What you bring
-
Degree in Geotechnical, Civil (geotechnical focus), or Geological Engineering
-
Minimum 6 years of relevant experience
-
Registered or eligible for registration with PEGNL or APENS
-
Experience in field investigations and geotechnical design

Strong proficiency with tools such as GeoStudio, Rocscience, Plaxis, OpenGround, Leapfrog

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic project environment

Strong communication and collaboration skills
