Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial, industrial, and institutional electrical systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, single-line diagrams, and electrical drawings.
- Install electrical equipment, conduit, cable tray, wiring, lighting, panels, controls, and other electrical components in accordance with applicable electrical codes and project specifications.
- Diagnose electrical faults and perform repairs efficiently while minimizing downtime.
- Ensure all work is completed safely, accurately, and in compliance with applicable codes, standards, and company procedures.
- Perform testing, commissioning, and verification of electrical installations.
- Mentor and provide guidance to apprentice electricians as required.
- Coordinate with project managers, supervisors, clients, and other trades to ensure successful project completion.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Complete required documentation, inspections, and daily reports as needed.
Requirements:
- Valid Journeyman Electrician Certificate (or Red Seal endorsement preferred).
- Valid driver’s licence with reliable transportation.
- Strong knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code and safe work practices.
- Experience installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining commercial and industrial electrical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical drawings.
- Proficient in the use of electrical testing equipment, power tools, and hand tools.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while contributing effectively to a team.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality workmanship.
- Ability to work at heights, lift materials, and perform physically demanding work when required.
