Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Septic Tank Truck Driver to join our team. This role involves operating specialized commercial vehicles to safely and efficiently transport septic waste, ensuring compliance with all safety and environmental regulations. Duties
- Operate septic tank trucks for the collection and transportation of waste materials to designated disposal sites
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and proper functioning
- Maneuver trucks in tight spaces and navigate various routes while adhering to traffic laws and safety protocols
- Connect hoses and equipment for efficient waste transfer, ensuring all safety procedures are followed during operations
- Maintain accurate records of daily routes, waste volumes, and service reports
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on trucks, including basic repairs or notifying maintenance teams of issues
- Assist with loading or unloading materials as needed, utilizing forklift or heavy equipment when necessary
- Comply with all federal, state, and local regulations related to hazardous waste transportation
Skills
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for tanker vehicles
- Experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts and other industrial machinery
- Knowledge of freight handling procedures and safe driving practices for commercial vehicles
- Familiarity with automotive repair basics to troubleshoot minor vehicle issues
- Strong understanding of environmental safety standards related to waste transportation
- Ability to operate forklifts and other heavy equipment safely when required
- Excellent navigation skills for route planning and adherence to schedules
- Good communication skills for interacting with team members and clients effectively
