Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Dispatcher to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating transportation activities, managing freight shipments, and ensuring smooth communication across all supply chain operations. This role requires strong technical skills, excellent communication abilities, and the capacity to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The Dispatcher plays a vital part in maintaining operational efficiency and customer satisfaction through effective scheduling and coordination.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and schedule freight shipments using our TMS and routing tools to optimize delivery routes and timing
- Communicate daily with drivers on schedules, routes, and delivery instructions
- Handle phone and email communication with drivers, clients, and internal teams professionally
- Enter data accurately into our TMS for tracking, reporting, and billing
- Watch for delays or problems on your loads and fix them before they become someone else's problem
- Coordinate with brokers/third-party providers on pickups, deliveries, and related services as needed
- Follow safety regulations and company policy on every load
Requirements
- Comfortable with computers and data entry — accuracy matters
- Strong communication skills, verbal and written, with good phone manner
- Able to juggle multiple loads and priorities without dropping the ball
- Able to stay level-headed and sharp when things go sideways
- Reliable and on time, every day
Preferences
- Experience with a TMS or freight/logistics software
- Familiarity with cross-border (Canada–US) freight movement
- Previous dispatch or trucking industry experience
