Sonshine Place Preschool, a ministry of Greendale MB Church, is seeking a caring and patient Part-Time Preschool Support Teacher to provide one-to-one support for a child in our preschool program in Greendale, Chilliwack, BC.
The successful candidate will work closely with the preschool director and classroom teacher to help support the child's participation in daily activities and foster a positive preschool experience.
Position Details
- Part-time, mornings only
- Monday, Wednesday, and Friday
- 8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. (9 hours per week)
- Follows the Chilliwack School District calendar for closures, holidays, and Pro-D Days
Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one support for a child within the preschool classroom
- Assist the child in participating in daily routines, learning activities, and social interactions
- Support the child's emotional, social, and developmental needs
- Encourage independence while providing appropriate guidance and assistance
- Work collaboratively with the preschool director and classroom teacher
- Maintain a safe, caring, and inclusive environment
- Communicate professionally and respectfully with staff and families
- Follow all preschool policies, procedures, and confidentiality requirements
Qualifications
- Experience working with young children is preferred
- Experience supporting children with diverse learning or developmental needs is an asset
- Patient, compassionate, and dependable
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine love for children and a desire to help them succeed
- Willingness to work in agreement with Sonshine Place Preschool's Christian philosophy and values
- Successful completion of a Criminal Record Check
- Ability to provide all required employment documentation
Pay: Up to $22.00 per hour
