Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. The Nurse Practitioner will work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients across the lifespan. The ideal candidate will have excellent clinical skills, a strong commitment to patient care, and the ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. This position can be Part-Time or Full-Time.
Responsibilities:
1. Conduct comprehensive health assessments, including medical history, physical examinations, and diagnostic tests.
2. Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient assessments and in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare providers.
3. Prescribe medications and treatments within the scope of practice and in accordance with state regulations.
4. Perform procedures and treatments, such as wound care, injections, and suturing, as needed.
5. Educate patients and their families about preventive care, treatment options, and self-management techniques.
6. Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.
7. Document patient care activities accurately and in a timely manner in electronic medical records.
8. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and ensure continuity of services.
9. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practice projects to enhance patient care delivery.
10. Maintain licensure and certification requirements, including continuing education credits and professional development activities.
Qualifications:
1. Master's or Doctorate degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
2. Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner in the respective specialty area (e.g., Family Nurse Practitioner, Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner, Pediatric Nurse Practitioner).
3. Current provincial licensure as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner.
4. Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner preferred.
5. Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
7. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with diverse healthcare team members.
8. Proficiency in electronic health record systems and other healthcare technology.
9. Ideally lives within a 45 minute commute to Belleville, Ontario.
