We’re a destination craft brewery in Mississauga. We make it our business to brew a wide variety of delicious and inventive beer styles appealing to the craft enthusiast as well as the mainstream convert. We connect the deliciousness of traditional, small batch brewing and the authenticity of local history in the century prior to prohibition.
The demand for our beer requires that we expand our crew with the addition of a new brewer. The brewer will become an integral part of our brewing process, led by our Head Brewer and reporting to our Brewmaster.
Key Responsibilities:
· Brewing, cellaring and packaging of beer;
· Maintaining a high standard of:
o professionalism, as a brewer by trade;
o sanitation, of the brewhouse, brewing and packaging equipment;
o cleanliness and organization of production areas, equipment and raw materials.
· Quality sampling, testing and record keeping of work in process and finished beer;
· Assisting with preventative maintenance of brewing equipment, packaging equipment and utilities;
· Providing active input, insight and recommendations on product development and quality assurance;
- Enhancing our brand as an everyday ambassador for Stonehooker Brewing Company.
Job Qualifications
· Graduate of brewing program from Niagara College or equivalent;
- Good knowledge of, and experience brewing a wide variety of different beer styles;
· Effective communications skills, both written and verbal;
· High energy and initiative, combined with strong interpersonal skills;
- Ability to work both independently and within a team, with minimal supervision;
· Resourceful multi-tasker, with a 'get-it-done, can-do' attitude;
· Effective problem-solving with sound decision-making abilities, results oriented;
- Competent troubleshooting skills and mechanical/electrical aptitude;
· Able to work shifts (days, afternoons and midnights), overtime, weekends, and holidays as required;
- Experience in safely handling chemicals with an emphasis on cleaning and sanitizing protocols;
· Essential brewery lab work knowledge and experience;
· Competent computer skills, proficiency in Word and Excel;
· Previous experience in brewery operations is an asset.
Working Conditions
· Physical Environment(s): Production/Warehousing; Indoor Office
· Physical Requirements: Standing for long periods of time; frequently lifting 25 kg grain bags, 30 L full kegs, carrying, pushing, lifting, bending and pulling weights of up to 40 kg.
