Job Summary
Blake Medical Group Inc., is a proud Canadian family owned manufacture of medical seating, mattresses and a unique gel that is the fundamental part of our product line, based in Brantford, Ontario.
We are seeking dedicated and hardworking production worker to join our team as we continue to grow and early-stage entry into the International market. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Duties
- Cutting gel, accessories to the correct size for product assembly using scissors
- Cutting cushions, accessories and backs to the correct size for product assembly using band saw, table saw & scissors
- Assembling backrests using screwdrivers and wrenches
- Working at the glue stations using hot glue as well as water-based glue and sprays with pressurized spray guns.
- Assembling hardware for headrests and backrests
- Building boxes and packaging product in them for shipping
- Being a part of the quality control procedure
- Package products for shipping.
- Using powered and hand tools; drills, heat guns, screw drivers, socket sets, wrenches to repair mattress pumps
- Wiping down cushions that have come back with sanitizing solution to disinfect products
- Cleaning our products in our industrial washing machines and dryers
- Testing products to make sure they are in working condition before restocking.
- Ensure facility and equipment is in safe working condition and conduct routine maintenance and start up shut down procedures.
- General cleaning such as but not limited to sweeping & mopping floors and cleaning equipment.
- Follow instructions from supervisors and collaborate with team members to complete tasks efficiently.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition, reporting any issues as necessary.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for all team members.
- Participate in training sessions as required to enhance skills and knowledge relevant to the role.
- Assisting other staff with various duties as required.
Experience
- Prior factory or manufacturing facility experience is preferred but not required; willingness to learn on the job is essential.
- Warehouse experience including material handling and inventory management is advantageous.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects safely, and work in a physically active environment.
- Familiarity with basic hand tools and power tools is an advantage.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to follow directions accurately.
- Dedicated to getting the job done while meeting established standards of quality, safety and client satisfaction.
- Understand and apply safety standards, policies and procedures, as well as Operating Rules.
- Excellent attention to detail, safety awareness, and teamwork skills.
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:
- Days, Afternoons & Night shift , Monday to Friday (8hour shifts)
- Overtime where required
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, repetitive tasks, physically demanding, manual dexterity, attention to detail, positive attitude.
- Ability to meet physical demands, including reaching, bending, walking, standing, and performing repetitive actions throughout the shift, with the ability to occasionally lift up 50lbs
- Expect to receive exposure and training in all aspects of the production floor and hands on experience with the full range of our equipment.
