Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and professional Host/Hostess to create a welcoming atmosphere for our guests. The ideal candidate will excel in guest services, possess strong communication skills, and have experience in hospitality or food service environments. This role is essential in ensuring guests have a positive first impression and enjoy their dining experience from the moment they arrive. The Host/Hostess will manage reservations, greet guests, and coordinate seating arrangements efficiently to support smooth restaurant operations.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and provide a positive first impression
- Manage reservations and waitlists using POS systems such as Micros POS or similar platforms
- Escort guests to their tables and ensure timely seating arrangements
- Answer phone inquiries with professional phone etiquette and assist with reservation bookings or inquiries
- Communicate effectively with the kitchen staff and servers to coordinate seating flow
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host station area
- Handle guest inquiries or concerns courteously, escalating issues when necessary
- Assist in maintaining a welcoming environment that promotes excellent guest service and hospitality standards
Qualifications
- Previous experience in guest services, serving, or hospitality preferred; restaurant experience is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with diverse guests
- Knowledge of POS systems such as Micros POS or similar platforms is a plus
- Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Friendly demeanor with a genuine desire to provide exceptional guest experiences
- Basic knowledge of food service operations and restaurant procedures is advantageous
- Hotel experience or familiarity with hospitality industry standards is a bonus
